Hibiki, meaning "harmony", is Suntory’s flagship line of premium blended whiskies. Each expression in the series is a testament to the art of Japanese blending, often comprising over 30 individual malt and grain whiskies from Suntory’s three distilleries. For the 21 Year Old in particular, many of the malts are aged well beyond the 21-year mark, making this an exceptionally refined and complex dram.

Named “Best Blended Whisky in the World” at the 2017 World Whisky Awards — and consistently awarded every year since 2009 — Hibiki 21 has captured the admiration of collectors and connoisseurs alike. The WWA judges described it as “Elegant, sweet and complex… full of dried fruit, orange peel, strawberry jam, and baked apple from start to finish. Smooth, subtle and fairly short.”

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet, caramelised nuts with a touch of lemon acidity. Notes of blackcurrants, ripe pears, vanilla, dark toffee, and rich sherry spice emerge gradually.
Palate: Luxurious oak and dark cherry wrapped in sweet caramel and buttery texture, accented by a subtle wisp of smoke and wood spice.
Finish: Long and graceful, lingering with a hint of smoke.

While Hibiki 21 undoubtedly carries collector allure, it truly deserves to be savoured for the exquisite craftsmanship inside the bottle.
