Founded in 1836 in the village of Cambus near Alloa, Cambus Distillery holds a significant place in Scotch whisky history. As one of the earliest members of the Distillers Company Ltd, it quietly produced high-quality grain whisky, much of which was used in blends. A devastating fire in 1913 halted production for 25 years, with the distillery reopening in 1938. Cambus continued to contribute to blended Scotch until its closure in 1993.
While rarely seen today, independent bottlings of Cambus single grain whisky still surface from time to time—treasured finds for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
