Crafted in the subtropical climate of Taiwan, Kavalan Solist Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry Cask is a cask strength single malt matured exclusively in top-quality PX sherry casks. This bold and complex whisky showcases the richness of Kavalan’s distinctive style—layered with fruit, spice, and indulgent sweetness.

Named after the indigenous Kavalan people, the distillery draws on Taiwan’s unique climate and pure spring water to accelerate maturation and produce whiskies with remarkable depth in just a few years. Built in 2005, Kavalan Distillery incorporates traditional Scottish copper stills and fermentation techniques, blending old-world methods with new-world innovation. Its high heat and humidity contribute to an angel’s share as high as 15% annually, further intensifying the whisky’s character.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A vibrant bouquet of red fruits—raspberries, strawberries, cranberries—balanced with raisin, sultana, plum jam, fresh oak, and hints of garden herbs and toffee.
Palate: Rich and warming with layers of red and dark fruits, balanced oak, citrus, Christmas cake spice, and creamy vanilla toffee.
Finish: Lingering notes of strawberries, dark chocolate, vanilla, and sweet toffee.
